Project

My paternal grandmother, born in 1909, became progressively deaf after World War II. Since I am very close to her, I am interested in the problems she encounters in her daily life

A sculptor since 4 years, I wished to convey certain messages through art and I aim to address the emotions. My goal is to raise awareness of the reality represented by this form of suffering that is far more common than many people think.

In Switzerland today, the deaf and the hard of hearing represent 12% of the population.

In a nutshell, this philanthropic project has two main objectives:

Knowledge and recognition of this handicap among the able-bodied population.

Prevention: each of us is concerned in that they may fall victim to this problem. Let us be careful to safeguard the precious asset representing by good hearing.

First operation: a thematic exhibition dedicated to research in the field of tinnitus.

Exhibition held in the Villa Mégroz, Lutry/VD, in March 2005.

I brought together 9 artists who exhibited their works, and 30% of profits were donated to the ENT Department of the Cantonal University Hospital in Lausanne, for a study on tinnitus.

This charity exhibition was inaugurated at a major private viewing enlivened by speeches by Dr. Raphaël Maire and hearing professionals. Famous Swiss cartoonist Raymond BURKI was also there and generously donated three sketches that were auctioned on behalf of the study.
